Conclusion: Good Ending.

The ending of the book ‘Tuesdays with Morrie’ is interesting. Even though the ending, is almost predictable, with Morrie dying in the end, I feel that this ending is also a beginning, because Morrie’s death does not signify an end to the ‘Tuesday people’s’ meetings. Instead, the Tuesday meetings continue, the only difference is that Morrie is the one ‘listening’ now, with Mitch doing the talking. Also, the other change is that there is no rush to finish each meeting quickly, because throughout the story, there was an uncertainty as to whether would the Tuesday meetings finally end with Morrie’s departure, but when Morrie dies, they can peacefully have their small talk. In my opinion, the ending is a good ending; it shows me that the Desana tribe’s belief, mentioned in the 9th Tuesday, is true-Morrie’s death brought forth Mitch’s new life, a result of Mitch’s changed perspective of life.
